Extension Activities by Faculty Members

Dr. T. P. Jose, Associate Professor in Physical Education, submitted the research report on “Effects of yogic exercises on learning disabilities”, the major research project funded by UGC in April 2015.

Dr. K. Y. Benedict, the Principal gave the key note address on the topic 'e-Learning Technology' at Aditnar College of Arts and Science Thiruthenthur on 11-09.2015

Dr. Giby Geevarughese, Associate Professor, received nomination to the College Management Council from the Archbishop Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos.

Dr. Joju John, Assistant Professor, addressed 300 teachers of the Holy Family Sisters, Thrissur on the topic, ‘Training in Art of Teaching’ in August 22nd 2015.


Ms. Anu Rachel Jogi, Assistant Professor M.Ed. Department, presented paper titled, ‘Awareness on Neuromyths in Education among Teachers’ at the UGC sponsored National Seminar ‘Professionalizing Psychology, Current Trends’ held in KE College of Arts and Science, Mannanam.

Awareness Programme by Snake master Vava Suresh

A special awareness programme on snakes was organized by second semester Natural Science Association, Green CafĂ©.  The highlight of the the programme was the talk by professional snake catcher Vava Suresh who exhibited live snakes to create awareness about  one of the most feared creatures on earth . An array of both venomous and non venomous snakes were exhibited which ranged from the harmless rat snake and water snake to the fearsome viper, cobra and python. His passion and concern for the snakes helped in understanding that snakes are also creations of nature and that they  have a rightful place in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem
 


 
 
 

Nature trip

The one day trip for the B. Ed. Second semester students were conducted on the 11th September. The students were accompanied by Dr. Joju John and Mrs. Deepthi Elizabeth Mathew to Peppara dam and Palode Botanical Garden. At the Peppara dam, with the assistance of the Forest Dept.  a nature walk was arranged. The students were allowed to walk about half a kilometer into the forest where the site of nature camp was set up by the authorities. On the way they were introduced to a few of the many flora and fauna that populates and maintains the balance of the ecosystem.

After lunch the team was taken to Palode Botanical garden, which is a treasure trove of fantastic greens that are literally the life givers of the entire planet. The special research wing of the garden was also visited where a lot of high end research is being conducted on the latest developments in field of science with special focus on hybrids and biotechnology.
