Psychology Corner.


The psychology club initiated a theme termed “Psychology Corner” which focussing on main psychological doubts the student teacher holds. In each week, on Thursday a question will be put on the psychology corner. Everyone can answer the question based on their own awareness and put in box given in General class. The best answer will be selected and published in the very next week.
 The time period to answer the question is the then Friday 3.30 pm.

The natural science association conducted an awareness and exhibition class on snake bite by Vava Suresh in the college auditorium on 6th December. A discussion on immediate precautions and care that a person should receive after a snake bite is also discussed.

In memory of T. Y. Thampy Harris, a short film festival was conducted by 64th college union for Elementary and Secondary School Students. Vava Kottarakara (Asst.Director, Lucifer),C. Vijayakumar (Film Critic)Sri .Arjun (Short Film Actor) were the judges. Rishi of St. Mary’s  H.S.S. and Rakesh of St. Mary’s  H.S.S bagged the Rev. Fr. Jose Mathew Memorial Trophy and Prof. Thampy Harris Memorial Trophy respectively. It was a one day programme of short film competition and popular short film show on 29th November 2019.

United nations Academic Impact Programme was initiated by Mr. Saji Charuvil Thomas, New York as UN representative on 4th October at Mar Theophilus Training College. As the third institution under Malankara Syrian Management System, Mar Theophilus Training College is affiliated as the ember since 24th July .Dr. Joju John, Dr. Maya S. and   Dr. Laji Varghese are appointed as the staff coordinators of the programme.

The M.Ed. Department of the college conducted a charity campaign for the differently abled children of CSI Higher Secondary School for the partially Hearing, Manakkala , Adoor on October 1st  2019.About 50 members including, Teachers, Students and PTA members participated in the programme. Both the institutions enriched the Event with respective cultural programmes.

Fitness Hour programme

As per the UGC, Fit India Guidelines the college organised a one hour sports time from
 4 pm to 5 pm daily from 28th September. All student teachers will participate in it either by organising their own items or by participating in games already assigned. Sport Secretaries are in charge of the session.

Global Climate Strike

The students from Mar Theophilus Training College Participated in Global Climate Strike Programmes coordinated by March for Science at the Institute of Engineers Hall ,Kanakakunnu at 28th September. The programme from the college was associated with Popular Science Centre of the College. It included Cycle Rally, Balloon Art Show, Mentalist Demonstration and Lecture on Climate change Issues.

Paying Homage to Dr. T. P. Jose

Dr. T. P. Jose , Associate Professor was passed away to eternal rest on September20.The college community paid  the tribute to their benevolent teacher by saluting his services in the presence of his mortal remains in college chapel on 23rd Monday 8.30 am. Then the funeral procession reached his home and later to Marthoma Church ,Mukkolakkal .The funeral services ended by 4.30 pm. At the time of shocking departure of the prideful teacher in Physical Education, the college community as a whole compelled to accept the truth that Jose Sir happily went to take over the next great Adventure beyond perceiving Life.

Mar Theophilus Basketball Tournament

On 17th and 18th September, Mar Theophilus Basket ball tournament was conducted.10 teams of boys and 9 teams of  girls were participated. Inauguration on 17th September was done by Monsigr. Rev .Dr. Mathew Manakkarakavil , Secretary ,MSC Colleges by basketing the ball. The closing ceremony on 18th September was chaired by Adv. Anoop Jacob (Ex-Minister, Civil Supplies),Rev.Dr. Varkey Attupurathu Secretary MSC Schools on 18th September 2019.The presence Rev. Fr. Thomas Kayalakkal throughout the Event was highly appreciated.

On 5th September, the Kerala State Higher Education Council coordinated the RUSA Network Workshop for giving Research orientation for different colleges in Kerala state who were selected under RUSA project.  Dr. Bindu  B. and Dr. Neena Thomas from the college appointed as the coordinators in the college for the project.

Blood Donation Camp

Blood Donation Camp was organised on 3rd September by Eco Club in association with Kerala State Blood transfusion Council. Around 38 persons were participated in the camp.

New batch Begins


As per order received from University of Kerala, new batch students were interviewed and admitted by 30 and 31st August. From September 1st onwards, the joined batch infused to the existing batch.

On 24th August, third semester students returned back from teaching practice to the college.


Independence Day Celebrations
All students and teachers together celebrated Independence Day on 15th August by hosting flag on 8.30 am at College followed by Quiz Competition on Indian Culture. On 21st August students added flush to the Independence Day celebration by organising cultural events.

B.Ed. and M.Ed. Batch of 2019-2021 were commenced on 1st July with Inter-religious prayer and PTA meeting for the announcements relating to the course implementation. General Induction Programme and Campus Familiarisation were done on 2nd July. A motivational session by Mr. Hari G.V., Chairman, Jawahar Balajana Vedi   was conducted. The Campus Awareness session by Dr. Jose T.P. were conducted. On the 4th July, Club and Association orientation were given by Faculty members and Learning Management System was introduced to new batch by Dr. Laji Varghese.

On 17th June, all students presented and submitted their Reflection on the Book they had read as part of their Optional Practicum. The Reflection were assessed and graded. On the same day morning, students went to their respective schools for collecting time table for their Teaching-Practice Session. Community Living Camp

The Community Living Camp was conducted from 31st May to 4thJune. The Camp included Yoga practice, Visit to Ananthapuri Hospital, Vellayani Agricultural University and Kottur Elephant Park. The Venue was Mitraneketan Centre, East Fort and Kottur Elephant Centre. The programme was an Enriching, Refreshing Mode.

All kerala training college arts fest RANGOLSAV ‘19 held @peet memorial training college mavelikara on 8th& 9th march 2019. Mar Theophilus training college also a participant in total of 41 college. There were various items of competition held their include writing ,instrument and drawing competitions (essay ,short story,pencil drawing,colour painting,face painting etc)
    Also skit,mime,thiruvathira, fusion dance, folk dance, group song , nadan pattu,light music and recitation etc
Out of 41 mttc placed 1st runner up position with 104 points .

Rangolsav victory celebration program was held at mttc on 11th march 2019 1.30pm. Principal Dr k y Benedict and bursar Fr Thomas kayyalakal congratulate the winners. Prize distribution and short speech by principal Dr k y Benedict.

The PTA general body meeting for the 2018-20 batch was held on 6th March 2019 at Seminar Hal II

Chandrakalabham

Malayalam Association organized a programme 'Channdrakalabham' which is related to old film songs. All the selected optional students participated in the programme. I Semester Malayalam Optional was the first prize followed by the English Optional at Second Place.

Demonstration Classes

The Demonstration & Criticism classes for 2018-20 batch were arranged from 18th onwards.

Discussion with News 18 Channel

16.02.2019
A discussion session was organized by News 18 Channel on 16th February 2019. Modern Teacher Education as a major item in the National Election as a major item in National Election manifesto of parties int the next general Election 2019 was the topic.

UCo Camp

Phase II of UCo Camp on Aadhar enrollment for the public was held on 15th February 2019

Letter Writing Competition

Physical Science Association organized a letter writing competition for teachers as part of Valentines Day Celebrations. Mrs. Deepthi Elizabeth Mathew won the forts prize in letter writing competition.

Annual Exhibition

62nd College Union organized an annual exhibition of innovative works, models, charts and teaching aids on 14th February 2019. Dr. Resmi Raghunathan, Faculty, Dept. of Chemistry, M.G. College inaugurated the exhibition. students presented their innovative works with great enthusiasm.

External Examination

The External Viva Voce of 2017- 19 batch was held on 12th & 13th February 2019.

Annual THEOSA Tour

09.02.2019
Annual THEOSA Tour was organized on February 9. The destination included Palode Botanical Garden, Mangayam Waterfalls, Kulathuppuzha and Kudakkathupara. The journey started from the College at 8.30 AM and we returned back to college at 08.00 PM. One day tour of 2018-20 batch was also clubbed with the THEOSA Tour.
