Ezuthachan Memorial Trophy

5^th November 2015

On the 5^th November 2015, the Malayalam Optional Association conducted the Ezuthachan Memorial inter Collegiate Quiz Competition. Quiz Master Mr. Sibin Antony conducted the Quiz in 8 rounds namely- ‘ Sahithyam’, ‘Vyakthithvam’, ‘Keralam’, ‘Chitram-Vichitram’, ‘Bhoolokam’, ‘Shastra Sangethikam’, ‘Vinodam’, ‘Choothattam’, a total of 6 colleges participated, the winners were participants from Govt. College of Teacher Education, Thycaud. First runners up were KUCTE Karyavattom and the Second runners up were the Home Team itself.

SCREENING FOR BEST TEACHER

Screening for the best teacher from among the second semester B. Ed. Students of Mar Theophilus Training College was conducted on the 4^th November 2015. One student from each optional participated. The selection was based on performance of two rounds namely proficiency in teaching and specific talents of each participant. Ms. Selin S. Jacob of English Optional was selected as the best teacher and Sr. Bincy of Physical Science Optional was selected as the best science teacher.  These two finalists would be competing with other participants from ten other colleges for ‘SPARKZ’ – the inter-collegiate competition to find the best teacher trainee from Thiruvananthapuram.

FORMATIVE EVALUATION

Formative evaluation for the first and second semester B.Ed. students are being conducted on the 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th of November, 2015. 20 multiple choice questions would be included from each paper.

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

      The 60^th year Celebrations of MTTC was celebrated on 15^th October 2015. The jubilee celebrations flagged off with a prayer session led by His Excellency Dr. Samuel Mar Irenios, Aux. Bishop of the Major Arch Diocese of Thiruvananthapuram, in the College Chapel. The Inauguration of the Year Long Celebrations was also conducted by His Excellency Dr. Samuel Mar Irenios. Dr. K. Y. Benedict, Principal delivered the introductory speech and Dr. Joju John, Assistant Professor, welcomed the gathering. Mr. A. Prabhakaran, Director, Media Wing, Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment inaugurated the ‘Educational Media Production Wing’, the latest initiative of our college.

      Other major events included ‘Corner Stone’, an organic farming initiative by the First Semester B.Ed. Students, Cultural Programme by M.Ed. and B.Ed. Students, Visual Presentation of the History of the College- Short Documentary, Re-Launching of upgraded College Website, distribution of Prayer Card for the Jubilee Year and release of E-Content prepared by the Media Wing.

      Felicitation was proposed by Rev. Fr. Thomas Kayalackkal, Bursar, Dr. Esther Gladiz, Former Principal, Dr. P. M. Jaleel, M.Ed. Coordinator, Dr. Giby Geeverughese, Associate Professor MTTC, Mr. Ambrose. P, THEOSA Vice President, Mr. Prakash, THEOSA Secretary, Mr. Praveen, College Union Chairman, Mrs. Saramma Chacko, PTA Vice President. Mr. Laji Varghese, Asst. Prof. MTTC delivered the Vote Of Thanks. The function wound up with a rendition of the College Anthem following which refreshments were served to the students and all the invited guests and Staff of the College were treated to a scrumptious meal.
