The one day trip for the B. Ed. Second semester students were
conducted on the 11th September. The students were accompanied by
Dr. Joju John and Mrs. Deepthi Elizabeth Mathew to Peppara dam and Palode
Botanical Garden. At the Peppara dam, with the assistance of the Forest
Dept. a nature walk was arranged. The
students were allowed to walk about half a kilometer into the forest where the
site of nature camp was set up by the authorities. On the way they were
introduced to a few of the many flora and fauna that populates and maintains
the balance of the ecosystem.
After lunch the team was taken to Palode Botanical garden, which is
a treasure trove of fantastic greens that are literally the life givers of the
entire planet. The special research wing of the garden was also visited where a
lot of high end research is being conducted on the latest developments in field
of science with special focus on hybrids and biotechnology.
