Five Day National Workshop on e- Content Development

          The 5- day National Workshop on e- Content Development was from 16th April to 20th April 2015. Mrs. Bindu B., Asst. Prof. MTTC welcomed the resource persons, invited guests and delegates. Presidential address was delivered by Dr. K. Y. Benedict. Principal of our College, Dr. Andrew Milton, Principal Bethany College of Physiotherapy inaugurated the programme. Dr. S. Senthilnathan, Asst. Professor and Deputy Coordinator; Department of Educational Technology, Bharathidasan University gave the Introductory Remark. This was followed by vote of thanks by Mrs. Neena Thomas, Asst. Prof. MTTC.
          There was a session by Dr. Senthilnathan on ‘E-Learning- What and Why?’ After the lunch, there was a session by Rev. Fr. Dr. P. Susai Manickam on Visual Communication. After the tea break, Dr. Karpaka Kumaravel, former V.C Madhurai Kamaraj University and Director, UGC Academic Staff Colleges, Dept. of Education Technology, Bharathidasan University, gave a talk on ‘Trends and Development in Indian Education and Instruction designing for E- Content’.
          On the second day, Fr. Susai Manickam gave a class about videography techniques. This was followed by critical analysis of sample Short Learning Objects. After this, Dr. Senthilnathan gave a demonstration on script writing. A few more model SLO’s were keenly observed by the gathered and each participant decided on short topics for which they would prepare SLO.
          The third day found all the participants busy with script writing & downloading resources from the net. At about 11.00 in the morning, the shooting session started. Parallely, the script writing and correction of scripts by the resource persons continued.
The fourth day of the workshop was dedicated to shooting and editing of SLOs which went on from 07:00 am till late night

          On the final day of the workshop Dr. Senthilnathan gave a presentation of funding sources of projects and UGC schemes with regards to developing modules for e-content. This was followed by presentations of SLOs developed during the workshop. The valedictory function took place after lunch. It was presided over by Dr. Jayasree, Research Officer, Kerala State Council for Higher Education

Dr. T. P. Jose assumes 3rd Rank in National Lawn Bowl

                          
           Dr. T. P. Jose, the Faculty of Physical Education has participated in the Fifth National Lawn Bowls Championship held at Ranchi from 24th to 29th May 2015. The performance helped him to improve his ranking to 3rd position at the National Level. Congratulations to Dr. T. P. Jose.

Dr. T. P. Jose, Associate Professor in Physical Education, submitted the research report on “Effects of yogic exercises on learning disabilities”, the major research project funded by UGC in April 2015.
 
Dr. K. Y. Benedict, the Principal gave the key note address for the 'e-Learning Technology at Aditnar College of Arts and Science Thiruthenthur
Dr. Giby Geevarughese, Associate Professor, received nomination to the College Management Council from the Archbishop Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos.
Dr. Joju John, Assistant Professor, addressed 300 teachers of the Holy Family Sisters, Thrissur on the topic, ‘Training in Art of Teaching’ in August 22nd 2015.

Ms. Anu Rachel Jogi, Assistant Professor M.Ed. Department, presented paper titled, ‘Awareness on Neuromyths in Education among Teachers’ at the UGC sponsored National Seminar ‘Professionalizing Psychology, Current Trends’ held in KE College of Arts and Science, Mannanam.
