Illustrations on Drama- ‘Ingenium’

A Painting/ Photography competition
was conducted by the English Association- Inception. Entries based on
literature were invited from every optional class. The competition was held in
2 separate categories Painting and Photography and was open to audience at
12:45PM on 12th March 2015. The judgment was done based on the
scores of a Guest Judge and Audience poll. The programme concluded at 01:30 PM.
The winners were:

THEOSA FILM FEST

The
old students association of the college THEOSA conducted movie fest – ‘ART FUTURA
2015’ on the 17th and 18th of March, 2015.
On
both days the movies were played in the college auditorium after the lunch
break. The Hindi movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’ which carried a powerful message of
catering to individual needs of children, especially those with learning
difficulties and special needs, was played on the 17th.On the 18th,
the Tamil entertainer ‘Sillinu Oru Kaathal’ was played.
At
the same time the creative workshop for drafting two year B. Ed. Curriculum was
going on in different venues in the college.

In
light of the new regulations set down by NCTE the Faculty & Board of
Studies in Education (PASS), University of Kerala organized a four day creative
workshop for Drafting Two Year B.Ed. Curriculum from 16.03.2015 to 19.03.2015.
The decision to make teacher training courses a two year programme is
definitely, a milestone in the Indian Teacher Education system. It is a matter
of great honour that our college was selected as the venue for this workshop
which will lay down the blue print of the new system in B.Ed. curriculum.
The
inaugural function started at 10.30 am with a prayer. Dr. G.R. Santhosh Kumar,
Chairman, BOS in Education (PASS) University of Kerala, welcomed the gathering.
The presidential address was given by Dr. N. Veeramanikandan, Pro Vice
Chancellor of University of Kerala. This was followed by the inaugural address
by Dr. K. Dorasami, NCTE SRC, Bangalore. Suggestions and reflections on the two
year B.Ed. curriculum were given by Dr. C. P. Sreekantan Nair, Chairman, CTE
Kerala Chapter, Dr. K. Sivarajan, Dean, Faculty of Education, University of
Calicut and Dr. A. Fasiludeen, Chairman, BOS in Education (PASS) University of
Calicut. Our Principal Dr. K.Y. Benedict proposed the vote of thanks.
The afternoon session was discussion
on subject wise curriculum format and drafting. Over 75 participants who
included teacher educators, principals, former principals and faculty from
carious colleges gathered together for this Herculean task.

SCERT, Govt. of Odisha visits MTTC

The team initially gathered in the parlour with the Principal and Faculty Members and shared experiences of functioning of education and training colleges in Odisha and that of our college. The team was taken around the college and was impressed by the infrastructure and library facilities. They also appreciated the visual-ethnographic exhibition conducted by the Physical Science opt. students.
This was followed by an interaction of the team with M.Ed. Students.It was a very valuable experience for both parties. The Deputy Director Dr. Trinath Das turned out to be a man of many talents when he surprised everyone with the rendition of an Oriyan devotional song.
Second Semester Results M.Ed. 2013-14

Mar Theophilus Training College has another golden feather added to her cap as all 24 students of the M.Ed. 2013-14 Batch came out in flying colours. Highest mark (700) was scored by Mrs. Salini. K. S. who ranks 4th at the University level. All the students managed to score First Class.
