One Day National Seminar

One Day National Seminar
on ‘New Perspectives in Research’ was on 16th July 2015. The
programme was organized by MTTC in collaboration with AIRIO (Association of
International Researchers of Indian Origin).
The welcome and introductory
speech was given by Dr. K.Y. Benedict, Principal. The seminar was inaugurated by
Prof. Dr. B. A. Prakash, 5th Staste Finance Commission of Kerala.
The vote of thanks was
proposed by Dr. Mollykutty T. M., Secretary, AIRIO, Kerala Chapter who is also
Director of P.G. department, St. Thomas College of teacher Education, Pala.
The theme presentation on
‘Research in 21st Century: A Holistic Perspective’ was given by
Prof. Dr. Simon Thattil, Dept. Of Commerce, Karyavattom, Uty. of Kerala.
Afternoon session was devoted
to paper presentations. 27 papers both thematic and research based were
presented in two venues simultaneously.
The presentations were chaired by Dr. Geetha Janet Vitus, Rev. Dr. Baiju
Antony, Dr. Joju John and Dr. Bindu B.
The valedictory function
was at 3 pm. The chief guest of the programme was His Excellency Joseph Mar
Thomas, Global President AIRIO) who delivered the blessing speech. This was
followed by the release of research centre brochure, selection of AIRIO
committee members and honouring the new Global and Regional Office bearers of
AIRIO. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Praveen C. (Chief Editor of News
Letter, AIRIO).
Research by students of M. Ed. Dept.
As part of the
dissertation to be submitted for completion of M. Ed. Course, 25 students of
the 2014-‘15 batch has started the data collection. The period for data
collection assigned is from 25th June to 25th July, 2015.
The studies undertaken are of experimental and survey type. More than 50
different schools in both rural and urban areas are being covered by the
students.

On the 14th of
July, 2015 the open defence of Mrs. Bindu B. Asst. Professor, MTTC was conducted
at the Dept. of Education, Thycaud.
Prof. Dr. M. A. Sudheer,
Academic Co-ordinator, Dept. Of Education, Central University of Kerala,
Kasargode was the chairman. The Convenor of the open defence and Research
Supervisor was Dr. K.T. Joseph (His Excellency Joseph Mar Thomas). The other
prominent member of the viva board was Dr. Theresa Susan A. Dean and Head of
the Dept. of Education, Uty of Kerala.
The title of the thesis is
‘Development of models for Teaching Economics at Secondary Level‘. After the
presentation of the report the chairman posed a few questions and made some
remarks. Mrs. Bindu B. defended her work successfully. A scrumptious meal was also served by Dr.
Bindu to share her happiness.
It is a matter of great
joy for the entire MTTC family that one more member of our faculty has been
awarded doctorate after many years of dedicated hard work.

A New Beginning

The new batch of students
under the revised Two Year scheme for both B.Ed. and M. Ed. Courses arrived on
the 1st of july for a brief meeting. Regular Classes began on the 9th
of July, 2015.
On the 9th July
there was an interreligious prayer followed by the introductory speech by Dr.
K. Y. Benedict, Principal and message by Most Rev. Dr. Fr. Mathew Manakkarakavil,
The teaching and administrative staff was introduced o both teacher and
students. The PTA meeting was conducted
in the seminar hall and at the same time students were briefed about the course
and its component papers.
Welcome Rev. Fr. Thomas Kayallackal

The new bursar of our college Rev. Fr. Thomas Kayallackal was given a warm welcome on 17th June.
Teachers, Administrative
staff and M. Ed. Students gathered together for the simple function which was
held in the M. Ed. Classroom. Representatives
of each section welcomed and congratulated the new bursar. There was a
rendition by the M.Ed. students to honour and welcome Fr. Thomas Kayallackal
into the MTTC family. Each and every member of the college community introduced
themselves to the bursar after which Rev. Fr. Thomas Kayallackal gave a reply
to the toast.

Kayallackal we wish all success and pledge our support to you in your new
venture.
