The first semester B.Ed. students visited Kuthiramalika and
Rangavilasom palace, heritage sites in the heart of the city on 11th
September. Dr. Bindu D. and Dr. Ancy A.S. accompanied the students for the
visit which is one of the requirements included in the newly revised
curriculum. Kuthiramalika, an architectural structure that portrays the
excellence of workmanship in the erstwhile Travancore era is always an awe
inspiring view. The students were given a tour of the palace with the guide who
explained both the architectural and historic importance of the palace and its
previous occupants. This was followed by a tour of the art and photo gallery
where the paintings and photographs of the Royal Family along with various
royal artifacts were preserved behind specially constructed glass chambers. The
trip was a reminder of the glory of the bygone era.
