Launching of College Union 2017

The first official meeting of the newly elected college union was conducted in the Seminar Hall. The meeting was presided over by the Principal Dr. K. Y. Benedict, who also gave the introductory speech. A message was delivered by M.Ed. coordinator Dr. A. John. Felicitation was offered by Dr. Laji Varghese, Assistant Professor, Mr. Shajimon, Hrad Accountant. Mr. Jobin Davis, Chairperson of the College Union replied to the toasat. The staff Advisor to Union Dr. Ancy also gave a brief description of Christmas celebrations. Mr. George Mathew, Office Superintended offered to sponsor the cake for Christmas day Celebration, the joy of his son being recruited into the Indian Army. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sandeep, General Secretary of the college union. The meeting wound up with the rendition of the College Anthem and National Anthem

New college union takes charge

New college union takes charge
The oath taking ceremony of the new College Union 2016-18 was conducted in the portico of the college. A brief assembly was held and the ceremony began with an invocation of God Almighty’s blessings.
A brief introduction to the proceedings were given by Dr. K. Y. Benedict the Principal, declaration of the elected members was done by the Returning Officer, Dr. Laji Varghese. A toast was proposed by the newly elected Chairman followed by signing in of office bearers. This was followed by the swearing ceremony by taking the Oath which was read out by the Principal. The Function wound up with the reciting of College Anthem and National Anthem.

Ezhuthachan Sahithya Quiz- SPARKZ 2016

The College Union and the Malayalam Optional Students jointly organized Annual InerCollegiate Quiz Competition- Ezhuthachan Memorial Quiz 2016- on 2/11/16 at college Auditorium. Four Teams from different colleges participated in the venture. Dr. Naushad & Dr. Shooba, Professor, Dept. of Malayalam, University College were the Quiz Masters. PTM College of Teacher Education won the Ezhuthachan Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy & BNV College, Thiruvallam won the Runner Up.

Social Visit

The first year B.Ed. Students of Mar Theophilus Training College were taken for their Social Visit to Shalom Special School, Vattappara on 31/08/2016. The students were accompanied by Dr. Joju John, Ms. Sharon and Principal, Dr. K. Y. Benedict.

It was a day of introspection and great realization for all those who went their, as they were surrounded by a group of 150 children whose innocence and love made them forget their selfishness. The day was made special with music, dance, and games and it was happy to see all those children happily participating in those programmes with so much enthusiasm.

Mock Press

As part of 70th Independence Day Celebrations, the M.Ed. 2016-18 Batch students conducted a Mock Press. The students were welcomed with bouquet of flowers made with colours of National Flag. The title of the programme was ‘Vidambanam’ which means imitation other people as it is. The mock had two sessions, the first was personal introduction ans the second was answering for the questions of the judges. The judges were Dr. S. Maya, Ms. Salini S. & Ms. Anu Rachel Jogi. A student from each optional participated in the programme.   Sarojini Naidu, Rani Lakshmi Bhai, Mangal Pande, Jawaharlal Nehru and Kasthurba Gandhi were the participants of the Mock. Among the mock Jawaharlal Nehru & Mangal Pande were awarded the first prize, Kasthurba Gandhi mock got the second prize. The programme adjourned with vote of thanks and National Anthem

17th August 2016 Wednesday afternoon 2.30 PM, Malayalam optional conducted ‘ Varayarangu’ Stage Show on the occasion of 70th Independence day. The guest was Adv. Jithesh, who is one of the Worlds fast cartoonist.

Vande Mataram Quiz 2016

As part of Independence Day celebrations, on 16th August 2016 the Natural Science Department conducted a Quiz Programme “VandeMatharam 2016”. There were 6 teams named ‘Bapu’, ‘Nehru’, ‘Patel’, ‘Bose’, ‘Shastri’ & ‘Tagore’. The program consisted of four rounds named General Round, Movement Round, Quotes & Motto Round and Visual Round which were hosed by the following students Shilpa S. Nair, Soumya S. S., Arya Prasad, Shafi Thompson, Shabnam B. Nisa and Archana G. R. 
First prize was won by Malayalam Department, Second prize won by M.Ed. Department, third prize won by Physical Science Department. Cash awards were given to the winners during the assembly conducted by Malayalam Department on 17/08/2016. Consultation prize was also provided to other teams.

Independence Day 2016

Social Science Department conducted Speech Competition on 16th August 2016. Subject: “Deshasneham Swathanthryathinu Munpum Pimbum” Representativeds from all optional participated in the programme. The programme was judged by Ms. Kaveya (Teacher, Sarvodaya School)

Jai Ho 2016
As part of Independence Day celebrations, on 17th August 2016 the Mathematics optional conducted a Patriotic Sons competition “Jai Ho 2016”. There were 6 teams names ‘ Chauri Chaura’, ‘Dhandi March’, ‘Jallianwala Bagh’, ‘Khilafat’, ‘Quit India’, ‘Swadeshi’. On the same day the name of Mathematics Association ‘THEJAS’ was launched. Ms. Deepthi Elizabeth Mathew, Dr. Joju John, Mr. Ravi were the judges. Results were as follows:

Flash Mob

The students of English Department, Mar Theophilus Training College had conducted a Flash Mob on 12th August 2016 at 01.30 PM. The programme was organized at the college auditorium as a part of Independence Day Celebration. It was a collaboration of Dance, Group Song and Ottamthullal. Whole class actively participated in the programme under the supervision of the class teacher Dr. Laji Varghese and it was marked as a grand success. All over the programme received a great appreciation and positive response from the Principal, teachers and students. it was successful enough to bring about a unity and spirit of nationalism among the College Community

70th Independence Day Celebrations @ MTTC

A week long celebrations of the 70th Independence Day was conducted from 12.08.2016 to 19.08.2016.
A variety of programs were conducted by students of each optional which was an enriching experience lightened patriotic zeal amongst all.

M.Ed. EXTERNAL EVALUATION

The final phase of research proposal presentation and finalization of title of  M. Ed. 2015-2017 batch was conducted on July 22nd, 2016. The Dean of Department of Education, Dr. P. J. Jacob was the chief evaluator of the external evaluation which carries 25 marks. The interaction between the dean and the students was a very fruitful one which would help them in better tool preparation and successful completion of their thesis.

The annual blessing of the college was conducted on 1.6.16. The prayer and blessing ceremony was lead by the Bursar, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kayyalakkal. there was also a short function, welcoming the new office Superintendent Mr. George Mathew and office staff Mr. Sunil Jose.

On the 9th of April which was a second Saturday, the staff members of MTTC went on a trip to Ponmudi  and Kallar. it was a refreshing experience to be in the lap of Mother Nature, away from the noise and clutter of city life.
