Union & Arts Club Inauguration
62nd College Union & Arts Club Inauguration was conducted on 8th December 2017. Dr. Balachandran Kunju, former Principal, NSS Training College, Changanasherry inaugurated the College Union & Kumari Devu Krishna, Serial & Cine Artist inaugurated the Arts Club.

Malayalam Association 'Dwani' conducted their optional assembly on 6th December 2017.
Visual presentation on club reports, members of various clubs proposed suggested activities of the 12 clubs in three Dimensional Charts on 8th December 2017.

Eco Club & the 62nd College Union organized monthly social event programme on 29th November 2017. all the students and the entire college participated in the programme, which aimed to get field experience of togetherness and to make campus clean.

Club formation of 2017-18 academic year was held on 16th
November 2017. Students were divided into numerous club and teachers were
designated to give them the necessary guidance. A president and Secretary were
selected from each club and they held their first meeting/ executive to plan
their future programmes.
Short Film Fest

In connection with Children’s Day, the 62nd
College Union organized a short film fest on 14th November 2017.
Students from different schools participated in the film fest. Students from
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Akkulam, won the first prize and St. John’s Model HSS,
Nalanchira won the Runner up trophy.

S, Med faculty of this college was held on 13th November 2017 at the
Department of Education, Thycaud. She is doing her PhD under the guidance of
Dr. Giby Geevarughese, faculty of this college itself. Dr. Celin Perera was the
Chairperson of the programme.

November 2017 at college Portico and signed the document in the presence of
Principal & entire college family. Ms. Deepthi Elizabeth Mathew was deputed
as the Staff Advisor of the present batch.
Musical fiesta

A musical fiesta was organized by 61st college
union in connection with annual college fest, SPARKZ-17 at Mar Gregorios
Renewal Centre. Mr. Ben Johnson, a former student of the college was the lead
singer.
Inter collegiate Quiz Competition & Badminton Competition & SPARKZ

Mar Baselios Inter Collegiate Quiz competition was held on 6th
November 2017. 8 team from different colleges participated in the competition.
KUCTE, Kumarapuram won the first prize & Christ Nagar won the runner up
trophy. Mr. Boby Raj S S, Kerala University Assistant was the Quiz Master.
On the same day during the afternoon session, the Inter
Collegiate Badminton competition for men and women was conducted at Mar
Baselios Indoor Court. 5 teams competed for the women’s trophy & 6 for the
mens. The host team won the trophy in both sessions. Mr. Alan Abraham & Mr.
Aromal (English Optinal) MTTc won the Men’s Trophy & Sr. Mini M Jose
(Social Science Optional) & Elizabeth Mathew (English Optional) won the
Women’s Trophy. GCTE Thycadu grabbed the runner up trophy for both session.

The annual college fest SPARKZ was held on 6th
& 7th November 2017. The inauguration was done by Prof. Aliyaar,
renown Cine actor, Formerly HOD Malayalam Dept, University College. The
blessing speech was delivered by Rt. Rev. Yoohanon Mar Theodosius, the Curia
Bishop of the Major Archdiocese of Tvpm.

organized Malayali Mank Contest on Nov 1st 207. Students from all
optional participated in the event. Ms. Feleeshiya John (Social Science
Optional) won the Malayali Mank title, Ms. Vishn Priya (Natural Science) &
Ms. Fathima (Natural Science) were the first and Second Runner up

November 2017. 2015- 17 batch released a logo for the event on 30th
October 2017 at the college Portico.

October 2017 on ‘Towards e-enabled class’. Teachers and research scholars
attended the session. Dr. Shafi Thompson served as the resource person.

Aesthetic was organized on 19th & 20th October 2017.
Dr. Johnson Varghese, Rtd. Professor, Mar Ivanios College led the workshop.
Students wrote scripts & present act on the basis of the script.
Second day, a field trip was
organized to Guru Gopinath Dance Museum. A demonstration class on Bharathanatyam
was organized for the benefit of the students. The wax museum and pictures of different
dance forms were the main attraction.

a programme named ‘Mission Towards Zero Waste’ Mr. Pallipuram Jayakumar was the
chief guest, who gave an informative talk about how to dispose plastic waste.

selected as the best Talented Perspectice Teacher . the final competition will

celebration, Govt. issued orders to celebrate the week from 2nd
October to 8th October in honour of Gandhi Jayanti week and
conducted an esay writing competition. Population Education Club and the
college Union conducted an Essay writing competition in which Shiney Alex
(Malayalam Optional, 1st Sem) & Anju V R (English Optional, 3rd
Sem) won the first and second places respectively.
Sports Day
Annual Sports Fest ‘SPARTA 2K17’
was held on 28th September 2017. The college Principal Dr. K. Y.
Benedict hosted the flag and received the salute of the March Past.

Talent Hunt

The Talent hunt for this years newly admitted students have
begun with a flourish. The newly admitted students of M.Ed. Dept. Flagged off
the Talent Show 2017-18 with an array of entertaining programmes. The Raja Ravi
Varma paintings inspired ramp show was unique item in which all the students of
the new M.Ed. batch participated. A patriotic song, mime, candle dance, etc
were performed.

Annual Review conference and Research Guides Conclave

Annual review conference and consultation on innovations and
challenges in research was done by Dr. Asha Letha S. Nair, Associate Professor,
University of Kerala gave the inaugural talk. Dr. K. Y. Benedict, teaching
faculty, Research guides, Research scholars of this institution and other
institutions participated in the programme. The research scholars presented
their work in the afternoon session. The programme ends at 4.30 PM.
Yoga Day Celebrations

Student Teachers celebrated the Yoga Day in their assigned
schools on June 22nd. They gave awareness programme on Yoga and
taught some yoga practices. All optional students participated in the venture.
II Phase Teaching Practice

One of the major activities in teaching practice begins on
21st June 2017 and will continue till August 25th. Five schools
have been selected and all the teacher trainees have been allotted one of the
five schools for their teaching session.

Malayalam optional students conducted a Vayana Varakhosham
on June 19 & 20. Books from different publishers were exhibited at the
auditorium and we got a chance to buy the books and read it .

The most crucial academic requirement in the M.Ed.
curriculum, the thesis preparation and its key activity- the data collection
begins on 19th June 2017 and will extend up to 15th July.
Poster Competition

Natural Science optional students conducted a Blood Donation
poster competition on June 14, 2017. Students from each optional participated
in the programme and students from physical science optional won the
competition.
Environmental Day Celebration

The B.Ed. students of Natural Science and Physical Science optional
along with members of Eco Club performed skits which highlighted the issues
causing environmental breakdown and degradation. It not only gave the audience
an awareness about the various problems our planet and its occupants are facing
but also gave hints at solutions to these problems.
Community Living Camp

As part of our B.Ed. curriculum, five day residential
community living camp was held from 29th May to 2nd June
2017. The venue for the programme was Rajeev Gandhi institute. Mr. G. V. Hari,
Dr. Alexander Jacob IPS, Excise CI Mr. Shibu, & Bhramanayakam Sir took
classes. On the last day the visited Kottor rehabilitation centre.

A New Beginning

Classes for the new batch of students of both M.Ed. and
B.Ed. commenced on the 27th of July 2017. The members of AICUF and
the M.Ed. 3rd semester students led the inter religious prayer which
marked the beginning of this years classes. After the introductory welcome
session the students were directed to go to their respective classes whereas
the parents were requested to participate in the general body meeting of the
PTA under the leadership of Dr. K. Y. Benedict, our Principal. Mr. V. T

The self introductory session was followed by a key note address from the Principal- Dr. K. Y. Benedict. He called for the participants and support from various collaborating agencies and stressed on the need for resource sharing for the success of any programme.
