Visioning Workshop for Two Year B.Ed. Curriculum Held
In continuation of the previous attempts, an one day workshop on adding more flesh and blood to the general framework for the two year B.Ed. curriculum was held on 20th February at Govt. College of Education THYCADU, Thiruvananthapuram. the core committe formed guidelines for the framing of different theoretical and practical components to be Incorporated as the revised NCTE guidelines 2014. Subject wise coordinators and panel of experts as observers and advisers were identified. A school internship along with a mini project besides the intensive multiphaseted practice teaching with training possibility in a digital world classroom are the expected hightlights of the four semester two year B.Ed. curriculum of Unversity of Kerala from the next admission onwards. The fourday work shop to be held at M.T.T.C. Nalanchira from 11th to 14 February will give a final touch to the proposed two year curriculum.

Seminar- Non-Violence City
Today, on behalf of Population Club a Seminar was
conducted by the Research Scholars from Italy on the Topic “Non-Violence City”.
Our Principal Dr. K. Y. Benedict welcomed the scholars and gave a brief introduction.
After that Mr. Lukha, passed the message about non-violence and distributed questionnaire
to collect the opinions of the Teacher Trainees about non-violence.
Miss.
Fransica hold a quick interaction with the students after giving a brief
introduction about the topic. This was followed by group discussion where
students got opportunity to share their view point on non-violence.

Dr. K.Y. Benedict, our Principal had presented a paper titled 'E- learning Platform for Teacher Excellence' at the International Seminar held at Emmanual Arasar College of Education, Nattalom, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.

B. Ed Curriculum for Two Year Course: One Day Workshop by Board of Studies (BOS) in Education, University of Kerala, held at the College

As an initiative to comply with the revised NCTE
Curriculum (2014) for Teachers Education, the Board of Studies (BOS) in
Education (Pass) of the University of Kerala has organized an One Day Workshop
at the College on Thursday the 12th of February 2015. Members of
BOS, Faculty and Subject Coordinators participated in the programme. A broad
framework of the Two Year B.Ed
programme, which would be further developed during the next session of Workshop
on 20th of February at G.C.T.E, Thycadu, Thiruvananthapuram.
College Union and Arts Club Inauguration

The college union for the academic year 2014-15 was inaugurated by Rev.Dr. Jiji Thomas, Principal, Mar Ivanios College and the Arts Club was inaugurated by choreographer Mr. John Jacob. The charity initiative 'One Day, One Rupee' was also flagged off with symbolic contribution by the invited guests, Principal, Union members and Dr. Giby Geevarughese, Staff Secretary. This was followed by the launching of the college union blog 'www.edutheo@blogspot .com' and the official college blog 'M.T.T. College Today@blogspot.com' by Mr. John Jacob. Presidential address was delivered by the College Union Chairman, Mr. Praveen V. Felicitations were given by the PTA Vice President, Mrs. Saramma Chacko, College Union Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Fathima and staff secretary Dr. Giby Geevarughese. Mr. Monish S. Mohan, General Secretary of the College Union proposed the vote of thanks.
This was followed by cultural programmes from each optional that went on till 3.30 pm.

Flash Mob
Today's highlight was the flash mob by the English optional students. There was dialogue delivery from quite a few Shakespearean plays and Malayalam movies. The rest of the students were initially surprised at the sudden volley of dialogues from Caesar, Hamlet and other heroes. The flash mob was organized as a part of introducing the 'Drama Association'. The gathering was presided over by the principal, Dr. K. Y. Benedict who congratulated the students for their initiative and also declared the inauguration of the drama association.
The Media Club initiative- 'Theo Radio' is going strong with the daily news updates, campus news, 'edu-tips' and a relaxing song for the full stomachs every afternoon at 12.40 pm.
During the last period all the students got busy for the next day's College Union Inauguration programme.
A New Beginning
A digital log about activities in Mar Theophilus Training College was an initiative that had its origin some time back. Updating this Blog was not possible due to certain technical difficulties. However, this year we begin afresh. we plan to maintain a daily report of the college activities in this blog.
Feel free to give us creative suggestions and critical comments for improvement.
